University of Alberta Hyperloop Group (Albertaloop)

About

Albertaloop is a cutting-edge interdisciplinary engineering project club that stands at the forefront of technological innovation, with a primary focus on the design and construction of next-generation high-speed rail prototypes. With a diverse team of talented individuals, the club is driven by a shared passion for pushing the boundaries of transportation engineering and revolutionizing the way we travel. Our subteams do everything from designing composite chassis to researching and developing exotic powertrains and performing cutting-edge economic research.

The club was founded with a clear vision of a sustainable future, where high-speed rail plays a pivotal role in connecting cities and fostering closer relationships between communities. Our mission is to create a world where trains effortlessly traverse distances of over 300 km/h, significantly reducing traffic congestion and enabling cultural exchange on an unprecedented scale. As a concrete illustration of this vision, imagine traveling between the vibrant cities of Calgary and Edmonton in less than an hour, thanks to a high-speed rail corridor that seamlessly links these two urban centers.

Our team strives to foster the personal and professional growth of our members while facilitating valuable connections and enhancing their development. By providing a supportive environment, we aim to nurture our members into exemplary individuals who positively contribute to society. We believe in the power of networking and collaboration, and through our club, we offer opportunities for individuals to connect with like-minded professionals, mentors, and industry experts. Through these connections, our members can further their professional development, gain valuable insights, and expand their horizons, ultimately preparing them for success in their chosen paths.
