Engineers Without Borders UAlberta Chapter (EWB)

About

Engineers Without Borders Canada (EWB Canada) is an international development nonprofit that invests in leaders and innovations and advocates for change in our local and global communities. As a chapter of EWB Canada, Engineers Without Borders UAlberta shares the same mission and purpose.

EWB UAlberta is an interdisciplinary team that addresses systemic issues to create an impact in our communities. Our advocacy and technical project work apply the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to achieve an equitable and sustainable world. In addition to our projects, advocacy, and policy work, EWB UAlberta aims to create awareness for current global issues, sustainable development, and our international work, in order to help our members develop a systems change mindset.

Contrary to the initial belief that “Engineers Without Borders” travels overseas to build wells and bridges, we focus on projects that are sustainable, long-term, and that impact the greatest number of people. We use the problem-solving skills university students typically develop to drive positive change. We encourage students from all faculties to join and share their ideas to achieve our mission.
